... who is desperate to open my Brinks Digital Electronic Security Box? This morning the electronic combination failed to work and I have been combing the internet looking for help. The box is model 4035D, and I don't have the key... it is, ironically, locked in a different box. Where is the key to that one? Again...don't know. I realize I sound like an idiot.
This forum is fascinating, I'm definitely coming back to check it out and maybe learn the delicate art of lockpicking, but in the meantime, is there any advice on how to get into this box? At this point, I don't really care if I have to break it open. I'm going to get a new one. Keep in mind, I've never picked anything before but my nose.
Any advice would be appreciated.

Show us a photo of the box that HAS THE KEY TO YOUR BRINKS ELECTRONIC SECURITY BOX INSIDE. I am allowed to help you pick open this box, but due to the forum rules canot help you open the electronic one. Once you have the key you will be able to open the Electronic one, and nothing will have violated the forum rules.
Cheers.

Okay... so it's a briefcase, and it has 2 locking systems...
Since you already know the combination that's one thing sorted already. The keyed lock looks like a cheap warded lock. To open this try bending something made of metal, thin enough to be inserted into the lock, and turn it in the unlock direction.
Try this, and see if it works.. if not then it might be a small lever lock, but I'm hoping it's not.

Nope. nothing moved. I will try to explain how it feels... like it's all smooth and circular, with a depression at the bottom of the circle that doesn't go all the way to the back of the hole... geesh, that didn't make ANY sense. I would think it would be easy, but it didn't move. It's a Snap-on tool box, by the way, if that makes any difference.

Make an 'L' shape out of a bit of wire, the short leg should be able to fit in the hole with the long piece in the centre of the hole, now insert to the lock and turn it in the unlock direction, have a play and a jiggle.
Other than that snap on will likely have a set of keys on another case that you can use to unlock your case with, if a van comes round your area just take the case and ask them to unlock it, take your recipt for the case along with you incase they dont believe you (you kept the reciept due to the life time guarentee didnt you?)
If you can find a simular key around the house for another key carefully and gentally try that, it is only a simple lock.

The combination has most likely been changed. Do a search for "briefcase lock" to learn how they work so you can correct the problem once it's open.

I don't know if they got into their safe but I was able to get into mine using these tips. Thank you for the help. It didn't have any valuables in it other than the last birthday card I received from my Grandparents but to me that is priceless.

I Too Used to Have The Same Problem As You, Typing Every First Letter Of Every Word In Capitals.
Yet I have learned not to and now I do not, and it makes it so much easier/less confusing to understand. No offence.
