hello this is my first post. i have a few pick sets and i am geting better but when i bend bobby pins for a pick and tension tool i do so much better like i get the kwickset dead bolt first time every time. is it because the bobby pins are not leting me put to much tension on the lock and if so are there locks that i will need alot of tension?

Do you own a set of picks?

example.

# southord

and boby pins are a bad way to start of and cool to getting that lock open with bobby pin.

Try heating them up and quickly dunking them in water it makes them stronger. Im talking from Fact.

and other posts.

I didnt see anyhting stupid in it, Granted you have your picks and pick with them, its always fun to go back to your roots and see how good you can put your knowledge and pratice to use with simple things like paper clips and bobby pins (metal ear pieces for glasses in my case :P ). True there not ideal at all, be heck just for fun they pass the time :D Take a look around there is a thread based soley on picks made from paper clips i think its stickied.

I would encourage you to stick it out with proper picks. You make have some short term success with makeshift tools, but in the long run, your picking success will suffer. It is fun to go back to those bobby pins every once in a while, but I would say you're far better to spend the bulk of your practice time with real tools.

Happy picking!

welcome

Yes welcome.

I do not quite understand what you are saying about bobby pins, but I find those highly effective on handcuffs. Google it, and look at how handcuffs work. They are very simple, and can be bypassed in multiple ways.
