These locks have a tendency to have fairly tight tolerances. The direction to pick is away from the latch side of the door.

According to the picture it's a five-pin Schlage "C".

It'll be kind of difficult, but you pick it just like any other pin-tumbler lock.

And that's not a picture of the lock, in your link. It's a picture of a door handle.

Other than having to deal with a horizontal keyway, pick it like any other Schlage lock, probably single pin, with a hook.

If you are new to lock picking, I would definitely suggest something a bit easier like a Master padlock, or kwikset or weiser. Schlage locks are not for beginners.

I have a hunch that beast is taking varjeal's signature personally "see that button... etc..."

I did a double take when I saw it for the first time in reply to a post that didn't seem to deserve it, then I realised it was part of the sig.

anyway, just thoughts..

awww, come on, a Schlage was my first lock! Now I can pick a Schlage deadbolt in under a minute, not bad for a week or so of practice.

I still can't get a Schlage doorknob though, even of the same keyway... I at least find them really hard, something to do with the tension... try a deadbolt first.

I started by re-pinning it to 1 pin, and working up - only took a few days. I highly recommend this method as you can really learn to feel the pins better.

good luck!

Around where I live, alot of schlage key in knob locks have an inset cylinder, the tulip design so to speak. This in itself makes picking nasty unless you buy/make a tulip tension wrench.

Schlage pisses me off. On my grand dads door, I tried my half-assed 1 minute approach, and it didn't like me - this was about 3 months ago. Havn't gone back but when i do I will come equiped with my South ord and Peterson sets and Pickgun. :)
But they Just pick like normal locks, in those pics prolly number 2, but why Falle Safe ? I prefer diamonds soo.... Buy some southord or what ever you can get your hands on and pick away.
