Bumping Tri-Circle Video

Hello! Once again i got another video. This time i came with a different video, and thats about Bumping, Actually i just learned about bumping and thought of trying it, cuz i had some spare keys for my tri-circle lock, so i filed it down to so called 999 and when i tryed i was like WOW!! hehe, so i thought i will share this too with all of you! Please tell me how is this Video?

Hair brush, now thats a good idea. I've only used a screwdriver or a hammer handle, which does the job but Im also left with brusied finger tips.

Yes i hate when you bump your fingers instead of the key i mite as well aim at my fingers and it may by mistake hit the key

Thanks Jason, hehe yes it happs sometimes when you hit it although the bad side of bumping is, it gradually destroy your lock

Well, I also got some problem with bumping, and making a bump key.

The Bump Key I Made, was from the spare key of that lock, as the bumping rule is , This Bump key shuld open all this type of locks, but when i bought a new one, same one, it didnt open the other lock Can some1 tell me wot am i doing wrong, I Can post Pics if anyone wanna see.

Theres a possibility that the lock you got has one bit thats bigger than the pins in the other lock that you can bump.

Meaning the bottom pin is already hitting the shearline so even if the other pins are ok that 1 pin will make it not bumpable unless you cut lower cuts on your key.

Thanks for the suggestion Jason, But how much low i have to go, cuz i have cut it alot deep , plz check the picture of my bump key and tell me wots wrong in it.

Bump keys are hard sometimes 1 cut wrong and youv'e wrecked the key.

I have never bumped a lock my info is just from reading other threads.

Some1 else should be able to help you.

Well its valleys dont seem wide enough to fit a pin there jagged and dont seem to be cut to the lowest 999 depth, i suck at these keys so i am not downing you, i cant even make one that works.

The bump key i used was working perfectly on the lock of which it was spare key...but it wasnt working on my other same type lock, so i filed the depths more as low as i could, i also filed the peaks, i mean , I also reduce the peaks, tip, filed shoulder, made more space in depths, but now i cant even the lock i had bumped b4

When you make cuts lower it wont work on the lock before cuase ur making the cuts to make it work on the other lock cause 1 pin is a bit bigger.

but the bump key shuld open all similar types of lock. i m confused

Your bump key can open that lock and lets say the size of the pins are like.....

If you get another lock which is like

84329

That 1 pin will need a deeper cut on the bump key where that bigger pin is.

So check the key out on the other lock you got and see what the differnces are.

In a nutshell, the bump key should have all its cuts set at the deepest cut usually 9 or 0 less on some brands of lock.

If your key has been filed to a depth of 7, it will only work to bump locks with no 8, 9, or 0 pins as those will always be pressed above the shear line at nytime the key is inserted. Hence getting the cuts to the correct depth is important to have a bump key that works for all locks it fits in. This is what Jason was trying to explain although inchorently though my attempt may not prove much better, I hope it does.

from pic, valleys don't apear wide enough, should be as wide sa on anyother key.
