I realise this is going off on a tangent but this thread’s nowhere near the initial subject anymore, so what the hell.
Pinky you’ve mentioned VPS locks a couple of times in relation to Sitex doors, but I can’t find out anywhere what your referring to, could you give me a clue?

5g 7g is gauge of key
this is based on s.w.g (wire gauge)
5g = 5.4 mm
7g = 4.4 mm
8g = 4.1 mm all approx
therefore 5g is biggest 7g bit smaller 8g smallest
sounds backwards but you will get it

Pinky,
Do you have those plastic covers yet? If so could you tell me, how close a replica of the real cover they are?
I only ask because I’ve noticed quite a few lock covers seem to have some relief on the inside, to I assume ensure the levers are compressed and I wondered whether this was I included on the bought covers, or whether their just flat plastic with holes cut in the right place.
It seems like it could be counter productive to practice using a cover that gives you a different feel from the lock

the ones sent to me to trial, feel almost identical a pick to those on the door with normal plates on.
no cover can be a perfect , but these are as near perfect as possible, the chubb and era are absolutely perfect and not going to wear easily at all.
in fact i used them training for the first time at the weekend, and it did help bring the guy on, though once understood its important to move on to standard covers and rely on feel, as you can become too reliant on sight.
