Hi, I've recently began modeling for fun and a thought crossed my mind which I feel could be extremely helpful. I'm going to try modeling locks, and then animation of operation and manipulation of locks. Watching such animations of a lock up close and inside would probably be the best way to teach people new to the machines as to their operation. While I have nothing show worthy at the moment, I intend to model many different types of locks in operation as I become more fluent with modeling.
The idea occured to me when doing an extremely quick model while describing a locks inner workings to a friend, as you can see here:
(Yes, I know the model is inaccurate, missing pins, etc

)
So let me know what you guys think! While the 2D diagrams (such as those found in the MIT guide) have been adequate for years, I think 3D models of locks in operation would really speed up the familiarization for many new lockies to be.
