hmm dimple lock never had the pleasue of pickigng one. I would say just get one a secure it in a vice, also spray a bit of lube on you door lube to keep it good while you were practicing on it. One spray of silicon lube does miricles.

20 degrees would be a long way for the plug to turn on a spool pin. 5 to 10 would be more likely if this were the case. But, if the key functions normally, and you are picking the right direction, this *could* be the case: Perhaps your tension wrench is getting jammed against the inside-bottom of the shell. It's happened to me on occasion and threw me for a loop the first time.

Just a thought.

P.S. Don't pick locks you rely on. ;)

It would be a good idea to not pick that lock as 99% of all dimple locks will puke the pins into the keyway if rotated without a key in the cylinder. I would make sure your key works now :? .
For the best book out there on high security locks and their operation, take a look at amazon.com for High-Security Mechanical Locks An Encyclopedic Reference. Written by our very own site member Greyman! A true 5 Star read!!
