double sided picks

When it comes down to it there is nothing better than manual tools for your Lock pick Set, whether they be retail, homebrew, macgyver style. DIY'ers look here.

double sided picks

hello all,

After digging through my winter coat, I found out that I had accidentaly taken 5 extra ski tags (please don't call the cops). I have found that if you unbend the bottom "barbs" that are folded in and bend them into a rake, you get a good double sided pick/rake.

Interesting.... leave it to a Canadian to figure that out! :D Next thing you know we'll be picking locks with buffalo hooves, beaver tails, and thin slices of back bacon. :P

It would be cool to see some pics of your ski patrol pick set. :) I seem to remember the metal being pretty soft on those tag holders. Do the picks stand up to use? Or are they more of a "in a pinch, this would do" sort of thing.

Either way, nice idea.

Nice Darrel.h!!

I have done the same thing. I started making them over the winter, when I went snowboarding at a local ski hill. I found that you can even ghetto temper them with a lighter.

Note that it was another Canadian that also thought of it. :P

Careful dude, if anyone ever has some beef with you, he might come back to this thread, print it and mail it to your mom. This is the kind of trouble that is very hard to settle... :)

I don't know how Canadian people can mess up bacon - it never ceases to amaze me - my grandfather would eat it sopping greasy wet, grandma would give it the 3rd degree treatment.

I did see a guy on the internet pick a lock with a banana, might have been a link from LP101 forum - or the LockSport International site.
