How much are they selling for ? will i have to sell my baby for one ! Has anyone used picks 6 and 7 in the dino navigator pick set ? they are supposed to be for "dimple" style locks :? i understand the theory but some pointers on actual methods used would be a big help :)

I'll trade you my Tomahawk for your Mul-T code cutter. :P

Edit: Btw, does the Garrison line use a pin-in-pin system as well? Or are they just dimple locks?

Foil impressioning does NOT work on Mul-T-Lock, or any other dimple lock with telescoping pins. Mul-T-Locks CAN be bumped, as has been demonstrated on video by Barry Wels. Mul-T-Locks CAN be picked, although it would definately be quite a challenge so you better be at a fairly advanced level before you try it. The only pick set that's specifically designed for them, that I'm aware of, are Souber's Dimple/Mul-T-Lock pickset, which are of suprisingly simple design and you should be able to make on your own without a lot of trouble; I'm sure there's picks somewhere on the site, just search.

You could show him a video of Barry Wels bumping the Mul-T-Lock, but he can always just say it was faked somehow, sooo...other than that, without having the proper tools on hand already and the requisite skill to use them, there's not much you can do.

Foil impressioning should work on the garrison and 7x7 models.

I was under the impression that foil impressioning didn't work on anything with telescoping pins--have you verified that it works on these locks? I understand why it wouldn't work on the interactive due to the mobile element in the key.

i have tried the foil impressioning but can't get it to work, the foil just rips and i think this is because the pins seem to be under quite high spring tension and the pins are quite sharpe not rounded like pin tumblers

The best foil I have used for this is the stick on foil tape for hvac. You may have to thin your blank down some to allow for the extra thickness.

Devildog,

The garisson and 7x7 models are just standard dimple locks not pin in pin models  .

Is there a model with telescoping pins that's not interactive?
