Just so you know.

A point of forum wisdom:

You didn't "Hit the lock with a hammer because you were sick of it"

....you "Tested to see how the lock stood up to destructive entry techniques"

i got it open i used that half key i put some visegrips on the key and kinda flipped it over so the wieght of the visegrips provided the tenson. i picked each pin herd them all click and nothing i slid the hook out and put a filed down screw driver in and put a little more pressure and it poped right open the whole time i had it so the visegrips had there wieght on it. i did it like five more times. so i am guessing realy tight spring in a crappy lock. i think a normal tenson wrench would have bent.
now i am going to try it with out the half key :D :)

Kwikset knockoff. It will be a much much better starter lock for you. There are 5 pins in the lock and if it is a deadbolt then it is very easy to remove pin stacks to work your way up.

You should really check out digital_blue's beginners posts  .
For the best book out there on high security locks and their operation, take a look at amazon.com for High-Security Mechanical Locks An Encyclopedic Reference. Written by our very own site member Greyman! A true 5 Star read!!
