My Bogota review.

I've got the "old school" handles, which double as tension wrenches. I keep a set pinned inside my hat, and the other set are the first set I pull out when I get called to a job. I also have two knock-off ones that I made myself, but they haven't been charmed/cursed/whatevered, so when the lock won't open, I check, find it's the copy I made, then switch, and the lock opens a second or two later.

I'm starting to think that I will save my frustration for another project and shell out a few bones for a couple of sets of these!!

Well were i work the pink handels wouldnt help.. its just in construction the old disiplin comes in, you steal and get caught.... they kick your ass... or lip off, its no biggie though most of the guys don't even care about them, there glad i have them because they lock there stuff up and lose or break there key, Thanks for the compliments on the handels.. there to wide to double and tension wrenchs but i dont care i just carry tension wrenches.. i was just bored on my day off and descided to have a go at them, i thought they turned out okay. rays are better but its ray so i just tried my best . I was thinking of buying a set as well.

I have a bogota rake with the ergonomic handle (seen here: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v47/MadMick/Bogota4.jpg), I hope the author doesn't care I used his picture.

I love the feel of the ergonomic handle, I used it more then the regular handle ones, actuall, I don't use the regular ones at all yet, I just use the ergo-Bogota and a twist flex tensioner, works beautifully.

Blink - what is the distance between the two peaks on your pick you have photographed here? - I like it, want to copy it. Hope this is not an inappropriate request.

I love Ramundo's BOGOTA picks because of the size. I respect his smooth work and cleverness, but with no disrespect....They are Lock Picks, not magic wands as some of you think. If you can't picks a lock then these are useless to you.

I continue to make them but flip flop from normal picks to bogotas...whatever it takes to get the job done.

One thing is the conversation piece value of them. Most locksmiths see my picks and don't bat an eye until they see the Bogotas and say "What the heck are these?"

I've made successfuly made a bogota clone that works like a magic wand, my brother who does not pick at all asked me to show him this pick, never seen anything like it, grabs it and a tension bar and after 30 seconds has a couple of locks open with it. This design is wonderful.

As I was informed a few days ago by another moderator, Rai isnt currently making any and serepick is sold out. Your option is to either buy ones that are based on the Raimundo design but are not officially made by his hands, buy the Titanium ones, or make your own.
