It can be done easily I believe. I bump a lot of 6 pin schlages with 5 pin bump keys due to the forward ramp of the key. This is present on any key so it should work in this situation also.

But, if I'm understanding you Zeke, then pip should not be cutting a 7th cut then, right? He should just cut the 6 existing cuts on the key to lowest, and rely on the ramp of the tip of the key to hit the 7th pin, correct?
Yes, it would be worth a shot. I guess I misunderstood the post. Speed reading on the forums isn't a good thing I guess .
