I think I picked the lock but...

Well, after a few hours of practice with my neighbor's lockpick set, I locked in all the tumblers and the inner piece of the knob turns as if you were turning it with a key, however the knob will still not turn. What am I doing wrong?

Probably picking it in the wrong direction. You must pick it in the direction that the key operates the lock, or else use a plug spinner.

Just my guess.

You'll find that the lock does not pick the same way when you try doing it the other direction. It might be much harder, or it might just fall open for you - either way, the pins will set in a different order.
Plug spinners are kind of beside the point if you can pick the lock open (since you're not worried about getting in, but getting practice.) If you want to look into them anyway, check this out: viewtopic.php?t=9096&highlight=tshock+mouse+trap

I experience something similar to this. I have an entire handle apparatus - both inside knob and outside knob, I'm not entirely sure, but I was told it was a weiser- but not something you would find in a residential area - its from a plant in the area, is extremely well built and the core has security pins in it. I can get the plug to turn (located in the handle/knob), but thats it. Nothing else happens with the handle/knob. I did notice though that something in the chassis of the lock also moves when I turn the plug, I think this part is called the spindle, not sure entire.

It is brushed metal finish on this lock, again, wish I had a cam to take pics.

Seems to me it's been mentioned that some Weiser KIKs require a LOT of tension to unlock when picking them in an installed situation. You may find that you need to pick the lock, then use something like a screwdriver to make the final turn and unlock the lock.

Varjeal mentioned something of this recently. I've not experienced this. All the Weisers I've picked (and I've picked a lot of them) didn't really give me a problem turning the plug with the tension wrench, but it could be this is what you're up against.

i have the exact same problem i set all the pins, the plug turns but the lock wont open.

i had the same problem and heres what i did. upon picking the lock turn the barrell ever so slightly and i mean just eonugh so the pins remain set if you remove your tension tool. when you have done this just carefully insert a longer tension wrench into the lock as if it is the key and being carefull not to unset the pins turn the tool. this worked for me and i hope it does for you guys. please feel free to pm me and let me know how you get on.
