Ilco US set padlock

Postby Dr Money » 3 Oct 2004 21:30

I have a padlock thats really giving me trouble, On the front it says "US SET" and in the middle is an ILCO logo. On side side is stapmed t35-7464. Apparently ILCO and several other lock companys have merged together into Kaba, and their website is useless. This is what I figured out so far: it has 5 pins on the top and 5 flat pins on the bottom. I have picked it twice, but I was just scrubbing the top and bottom. Anyone know something about this??

I am not familir with this lock. But, it sounds like a disc tumber lock of some sort.

Perhaps if you could post a pic of the lock (with the keyway) and key... we could tell you more...

I believe I may of come across this lock before... is the colour of it a bronze/ goldish? Square in shape? A pic would really help..

From the description you have given it sounds like it MAY be a US Gov't lock, I've seen them while training in the US, and training with with US military in Canada. They are a "restricted purchase" lock, so I don't have much experience with them, other than seeing them. I recently found a distribuitor of those locks, I'll see if I can find any info on it. If it turns out to be a restricted lockset, I cannot provide details. (sorry)

Have to ask, is the lock new? How did you get it? (I want one..) Finally, do you have the key? Oh yes, pic?
