I am looking for information on this padlock, mainly its model number - I have been to the schlage website and could not locate anything. I would like to change the pinning on this type of lock and am not sure if there is anything special I have to do.
I own two of these locks (given to me) - one i have the key for, the other was lost in a house move (which prompted my entry back into lockpicking, as it was driving me nuts because I wanted to use the lock again and maybe change the cylinder out or change the pins - which is the intent of my post)
Any help is appreciated.

I am not sure of the exact product number, or even any number at all.
It does however, look like a simple lock to disassemble.
1) Insert key and unlock lock.
2) Look down the hole where the shackle goes, there should be a screw, unscrew it.
3) The core should fall out, now you will just have to removed any clips, and use a plug follower, etc.

I understand how to get the core out, but if I go through all of that, can this type of core be re-pinned?

Mine has a screw on back of cylinder instead of a clip so its easy to remove so ya but it may differ to your lock.

I don't see any reason why it couldn't be re-pinned after you get the cylinder out, just follow standard procedure.

Perhaps it has an Abus-type quick rekey thing where you take out the cylinder, press a little button on the rear of the plug, hold the button in, then turn the key until the key pins are exposed through an opening in the shell.

There is a screw down in the well where the shackle sits. The core just slides out after you turn the key 1/4 turn.
I want to repin the second lock (missing key) to match the lock that I have the key to.

The product number for the Schlage padlock is 45-101 or 45-121. I have the product sheets with exploded views and part #'s . I can scan and email if you want

Dont put your email in a post for a couple of reasons, its against the rules and you will get spam galore from it.
Theres an area in your profile to put your email address use that and everyone who wants to email you will know where to find the address.

Having dealt with many of these locks, here's a tip or two:
First, with the key to the lock (or with it picked open) unlock the lock, and unscrew the screw under the live end of the shackle.
Next, using a copy of the working key, turn the cylinder half way to open (just enough to put the pins out of alignment so it will retain the key), and pull the cylinder and the retainer out. I have had to resort to using a lever of some kind under the bow of the key to get the cylinder/retainer pair out, as on locks that have been out in the weather the retainer's holding nubs can be difficult to dislodge from the body. As you pull, try to go slowly, as you don't want to dislodge the shackle retainer (unless you need to ovehaul the lock mechanism itself). And the grease Schlage used is terribly staining to shirts....
The locks will take any schlage KIK-type cylinder of the right length (the ones I have are all 6 pin). Yes, you could put a Primus or Everest cylinder in that lock. However, it does need to have the Schlage-type screw on cap and be the same length; you have to change the driver to the padlock one (similar to but not identical to the American 3600/3700/3800 driver for Schlage cylinders; my American service manual says it's an ADRSCH6).
Too bad these schlage locks are out of production; in ways they are as good as the American 3600/3700/3800 series, which does pretty much the same thing.

The Schlage padlocks are out of production because like most of the quality locks they produce, they are all overpriced.

These locks have been with me for a long time - at least 6 years. The one almost was thrown out because I lost the keys to it (rather my partner at the time tossed out a set of keys she did not know what they went to).
If I ever see another one around I will probably pick it up - buy that is.

That and the fact that their bar locking mechanism is in some ways inferior to the double ball like the American lock 3600 and kin.
However, I have had very little trouble out of these locks, even after being out in the weather for 15-20 years. Tough on a lock, but these are pretty tough locks.
As to overpriced, well, I remember having to sit down when I contacted a Schalge dealer about a replacement for an A series LFIC KiK lockset.... Not to mention the cylinder price itself. But that A series is built like a tank. Costs like one, too.
