I got my first lockpicks today...I can unlock my #9 master lock and a few deadbolts around my house, but I tried unlocking this ACE lock...but there's a weird problem. Seems like when I get down to the last 2 pins, I set one, then I set the last and the one before it drops and vice versa. I also noticed there's a button inside the lock way by the back that I can hit with my pick that makes the latch move. Is this some kind of security feature? I tried to find the lock online, and i think this is it...

First the obligatory DON'T PICK LOCKS YOU RELY ON.
sounds like security pins but the lock looks pretty cheap so it shouldn't but i'm not sure. or the lock is soooo cheap its hard to pick.

Well, I'm getting it down to the first pin. But for some reason that pin isn't binding no matter how hard my torque is

still sounds like you're getting a false set with a security pin

Or you simply have the incorrect binding order, some locks can give the impression of a certain binding order but arent, if you pick the opposite direction then the binding order changes as well.
