Bollards

Postby CaptB » 23 Jun 2006 2:50

Not sure if im in the right section or should be giving away information on how to bypass ram raid bollards. Just wondering if anyone else deals with them and the release tools besides me??
Since its a business area which is cheap to add to an existing locksmith for maintenance and repair. (removal and fitting is another story).

Sure ill do them if asked, i do anything to do with any sort of lock if asked though unless its a safe as i dont cover anything but simple ones right now.

Discussion on the tooling to remove, bypass or unlock them though is not for the public forums and come under the same class as vending machine locks.

just seeing if anyone else deals with them since its an area which isn`t busy, but its bread and butter. The same stores that are ram raided this month will need replacing again within 3 - 6 months for the same reason.
I won`t give any info on the release tools, is there a section on here that deals with them?? guaranteed to be an area I have yet to gain access

Its mainly Rhino and ATG bollards i deal with for large retail companys.

bollards -- objects such as pillars or cement blocks placed to obstruct vehicles or road traffic from entering a restricted area or damaging sensitive obstacles, such as forest roads or fire hydrants.

how do these have to do with locks?

Removeable ones, some you remove some sink into the ground.

They are lockable so robbers cant remove of sink them into the ground.

When hit with a car they get bent and no longer sink into the ground and often either can not be removed by the owner or are useless anyway since they have been bent.

I lot of houses have them and once youve parked your car on the drive you put the barrier in front of them, i have a few a year that the car has been broken into and simply driven into the post with the thought that the car will simply rip the post out, unfortunaly it leaves the owners with a new post, driveway repair and wrote off car.

Its mainly on Retail outlets I deal with them. Anti Ram raid. But the faults are generally the same. Who came up with the idea of putting the lock where it will fill with rain water

They also fill with water (rhino) which means when you unlock them and drop them into the holder in the ground they suffer with suction.

But all can be bypassed when jammed and top sections can be removed for replacement. Just seeing if anyone else deals with them and have come across any other problems?

Biggest problem I`ve come across is companies quoting for digging out the old unit when it just needs a new top section.

Can anyone identify where these are being used?

We would install about 2 a week .Mostly to people putting them in the drive way of a private house .After about a year you start to get the repeat work.Lock will not open for water and grit in lock.Just make sure you put a sticker on post with your name on it .The neighbours will see it and order and i have got lockout work from these as well.
Good video / passenger in white Iveco has got to have a sore head.
