Picking a padlock

i need help because there is a padlock i can't pick.Can someone link me a manual on picking padlocks,or give me a hint on that?

What is the make and model of the padlock?

what do you mean by model and make?
I only know it's made with a hardened shackle and the material is brass.
how do i know what model is?

Unless the lock is extremely cheap, the make of the lock should be stamped/marked on the body. Usually there's a number located somewhere by the keyhole which is the model number.

I forgot to ask...are you using actual picks or are you using something else? If your lock is a cheap model, you should be able to open it quite easily by just raking it open.

It's kinda hard to help you out since you haven't provided us with too much information. Do you have the key to the said padlock? What size is the lock? The more information you include the easier it is for someone to help.

it's one of the cheaper padlocks

i have the keys to open it

it's a medium size padlock(saying medium size i mean a 60-70 mm)

Can you tell us what type of tools you're using to try and open the lock? This plays a huge part in understanding why you can't open the lock. Do you have actual picks or not?

i got a padlock after a day of searching!
Its called Wire Rope and im thinking there is 5 pins..
Any help would be nice

I would venture that a Cisa lock would contain spool or mushroom pins. Not sure on that, but it is the assumption I would work under for pretty much every European manufactured lock. If you haven't already check out the MIT guide and the crypto.com guide. I would also suggest starting out with a different lock, probably a Master #3 or a Kwikset if they are available in your little bit of the world. If you are just beginning, its a safe bet that you are using too much tension.
