so, i hear that the SO jackknife pick pocketknif thing has little or poor feedback and is unwieldy, etc. but in a pinch what if you took an existing pocketknife and just grinded out the knife to a pick? i mean, its already the right shape for a hook, and its almost (at least mine is) thin enough to fit all the way in a lock.
the feedback will still not be nearly as good as a regular pick, but i think becasue most pocketknifes kinda lock closed, that it would be better. and also- if you have the SO pickknife thing and a cop searches you...hmmm. but if a cop searches you and you have a 4inch pocketknife, you're only sunk if he wants to see the blade. and you could have multiple picks on like a swiss army type knife.
as for a tension wrench i dont know (yet) but i think something is possible. also, this would be much more handy then trying to carry a pickset or even just a pick and tension wrench.
i dont know really, what do you guys think?

There are a couple threads with mini-pocketknives ground into picks, and sweeper bristle tension wrenches inserted where the toothpick and tweezers normally go. I haven't the search foo on me right now, but maybe when it isn't 102° I'll muster the strength.

I think the biggest problem to providing tactile feedback is that jackknife picks are not solidly connected to the handle. Most picks use a solid strip of metal with a tang that follows through the entire handle, or is the handle itself. Jackknife picks are not as firmly attached to the handle as a welded or plastic molded handle.
Personally, I carry with me a regular short hook pick and a few torque wrenches that fit inside a small emptied out highlighter. It’s some cheap crap brand highlighter, but it works almost ideal for carrying picks. I lined the sides with a few layers of paper, and the bottom with cotton so that nothing rattles around in there when I walk.
I would never buy or spend any effort in making a jackknife set, and probably wouldn’t even desire one for free, but that’s just me. I like my standard picks in the highlighter.

Well i had the cane once i think then they outlawed it, then it moved to having a piece of chalk or a black board rubber thrown at your head or simply being dragged out of class by your ear or nose or hair,
I think judging by the respect kids have nowadays in this country all they do know is to give them a pat on the back and a sweety, im sure thats what the parents do as well,
