Ok the LP101 search engine is one of the most frustrating things ive ever used in my life. You ask for a square and you get a circle.
My question is how can I edit my posts and topics.
Simple enough question that you think would be answered with the search engine. So if someone can find this in the search angine and prove to me its there i will delete this topic otherwise can some one answer my question above.

I believe that editing and post deleting are a feature that can be enabled and disabled my moderators/administrators. It appears that that is the case here on lp101. Normally if you want to edit your post or delete it the option will be in the lower right hand corner of the individual post box. But on LP101 the feature is absent. I hope this helps you. Maybe if the mods read this they enable post modification. I am pretty sure it is standard on VB forums, but some forums turn it off.

Although it has been discussed MANY MANY times in MANY MANY threads, I don't know when the last time someone started a thread on the topic was. If you search for "edit AND posts", the next one down from this has information in it where i just explained why there's no edit feature.

On second thought... I'll make it even easier..
viewtopic.php?p=162288#162288
But I found that topic exactly as I said... using our frustrating search engine.

P.S. I've even taken the time to write a tutorial on how to properly use the search function. If you click my sig image, you'll find that and a whole lot of other goodies.

Hmm... I think it's a spade, and by that I mean the suit in a deck of cards... Either that or db stole it from someone.

The edit button and indeed the delete button is in the top right of the posts by the way but only special people can see those buttons
I thought DB's sig was to do with written music at first but as the background image has the 'notes' together as a sort of scout type spade im unsure now,
Come on DB, whats wit da sig?

I believe he (or the sig maker if different from db) has found either an inovative db by using a fancy spade.
Cool sig either way

Looking for hidden meanings in a sig?
Read the Davinci Code?
Looks like a upside down spade split in two, what can it mean?
Perhaps he has secretly revealed that he has been spayed, neutered. lol or maybe it's just a unique shaped d and b back to back. Only he knows the secret

I wonder if phpBB has a feature or extension to allow edit/delete to users with N posts/registered for M days.
You have to admit, if this forum HAD (which it once did) the ability to edit and delete posts and threads, the content we produced would be much cleaner and hold greater value to our visiting members.
Just because a couple 10 post newbies ruined it in the past, shouldn't mean that the entire forum and its quality should suffer.

Look at the advanced section, you find some people keep adding to their first post and dont tell anyone, they add links and remove info, its a pain,
Leave it as it is and just pay attention when posting,
If the edit button is brought back for long suffering members you still have the issue that if they leave site they can sit there and delete all their posts as recently happend (or at least as many as they could were removed)
If you make a drastic ,mstake you can pm a mod or admin to change it,
Phpbb does not have a feature to allow editing for number of posts, there very well be a mod but its doubtful, the only way you could do it is to make a group like the advanced section is set up on and when you reach the requirements you are added to that group which are allowed such privilages but it has to be done manualy and its a lot more work load,
Leave things as they are i say,

Ok.. the sig thing...
It's the "split spade" a la David Blaine. I *wish* I could take credit for the idea, and the first time I saw it I smacked my forhead and uttered "why didn't I think of that?", but Blaine had it first.
It just seemed fitting, since:
a) I have been known as db for a long time
b) there may just be more ppl in this world that know me as db than as Josh (how weird is that?)
c) I am a magician, so cards are close to home for me
So... that's the story about the sig. I did make the sig. I just borrowed the idea of the split spade from Blaine. If anyone from Blaine's crew asks... you don't know nothin'!

Yes, which is true BUT this all occoured after my poll of "Snap Guns or Electric PIcks" when someone suggested me to add bump keys and hand picks in there. Im not the type of person to ignore others and that was a very good suggestion but there is not edit button. so this is why this thread has started. If you you look at alot of other forums they are quite organised even with edit and delete buttions- so why cant this be the case with LP101?
And to add to the disscussion about the sig - in my area of Sydney there is a gang that goes by the name of db (drummoyne boys)
