What lock to get to start with?

I already got picks selected, (http://www.lockpickshop.com/p-PXS-14.html)

i was looking at this: http://www.kwikset.com/Products/default ... 0Deadbolt/

for my first practice lock.

is taht a good one? can i remove the pins but one and work my way up with it? :roll:

why didnt you just post this in your other thread? didnt have to start a new one for that. heck- i asked questions unrelated to your topic in your thread!

but yes i guess so. it looks like the one i worked with a while ago. typically if its a deadbolt, then you can disassemble it and repin it. and so you know...id didnt til recently, ANSI/BHMA grade 3 is the lowest of the three grades, grade 1 is the best, 2 is moderate, and 3 is the worst, so as far as a beginner lock its good. or at least it should be.

That lock is fine!
And for a beginner, you could also pick up some Master 4 pin variety padlocks like the #3 or #5.

I agree with pinsetter, I started by picking 5 Master locks, all 4 pin and it was a great place to start, not over in a few seconds (the first few times...) and it won't take you two hours. it helped build my confidence but whatever-just start somewhere :twisted: :twisted: gl
