You can see that was a mistake because auto-jigglers dont even make sense in a bump-key topic.

Aww, the pics seemed to have been removed. Is anyone else experiencing this problem?
Think you could fix this submitter? I'd like to appreciate your thread in all it's bump key glory.

The search fucntion here is not the greatest, can be frustrating for newbies as it gives results similar to Yahoo, unrelated:)
Why not just refer searchers to the thread url instead of asking them to search? WOuld be nice and appreciated.
As for bump keys I've search and search, I could not find this tutorial remade. But did try to follow it without the pics. Could not do it.
After watching a live demonstration from toool where they made a couple of bump keys on stage with just a hand file and vise I tried it and found a hand file and vise is 100% easier to control and make a bump key! I highly recomend watching this video from toool. It covers the topic very well even newbies like me can follow
http://connectmedia.waag.org/toool/whatthebump.wmv
It's a long video but worth watching! What I learned is making bump keys is so easy it's almost laughable! Sure you may not get a perfect bump key your first time, but the tolorances are no where near as strict as some make them out to be. I'm a total newbie and had no probs with hand file, vice and eyeball.
My first bump key was a bit rough but actually worked after repeated bumps! Worked better after I fine tuned it. Main factors to be careful about is you don't want to make a bump key from a key with too many different variants in depth, or too high. It's a lot easier if you can find a key with more even depths. Also how much you take off the tip and back is important, start off slow!
Other factors are cheap locks are harder to bump! Since the tolorances are not as tight as more expensive locks! Flip to that is expensive locks are easier to bump!
Happy bumping!

The reason we dont refer everyone that asks to the threads direct is because although the post counts may not seem like it we do have lives and if we searched ourselves everytime for poepl laziness would be more rife and we would have less time to count our picks,

Hi Schrub! Fair enough, I just can't help to wonder how many times some people who were willing to jump in and make the post to "search" couldn't have at least pointed in the right direction. In fact I have seen that too, where some one will not know where it is but suggests to search in bla bla bla. It's so easy to make a post and only say, "hey just do a search its in there". Any newbie with zero knowledge could also make such posts
Any way I'm sure a lot have tried to use search and my experiences with search is often less then satisfactory. But I'm not complaining, so don't any moderators take it the wrong way! I was also surprised at some of the reasons some people got banned here! Yes you see I have been reading all the threads I can for newbies.
I can understand not being so forth coming about bump keys! But actually doing a search on Google would be faster! That's how I found Toool, and also this forum too! Now off I go to cound my picks
Regards!

Well a lot of people actually use google search bar (i think its called somthing like that) to search the site,
I must admit that having read al the site, every post i tend to half remember where certain things are and just do a search there so yes i guess it is a bit daunting for noobs,
I will normally find links for noobs or anyone for that matter but when its obvious the op has made no effort to even have a try then i have little time or patience to actually spoon feed them that said however in most instances i will still help that person by actually answering their question before tellign them to search for better explanations,
I dont think anyone is banned from this site without good reason, certainly genuine mistakes are normally understood but the main ones being ilegal activity, trolling or spamming certainly are not what the site needs or wants,
I know your not having a go at me here and im not having a go back just tryimng to explain the predicument all the regulars go through, the longer your here the more new posts all saying the same thing you see and theres only so many times you are happy retyping the same thing over and over again before you want/need a rest and as you say use the simple generic reply of search,
The other side of it is that at least they are getting an answer where as a lot of forums noobs either just get ignored or get insulted for simple questions which is wrong, as i always say no question is stupid if you dont know the answer, at least look for the answer first though,

Hi Shrub, glad you didn't take any thing the wrong way! Sorry for the mispelling of your name. Of course you make great points! I come from a long SEO background and am a regular on many of the seo forums and have been for a while, so I know what your talking about the same questions! In fact I've read the same questions so many times on seo forums they are engraved in my mind! Many of those forums have created special groups just for the most FAQ. There a newbie would be told, search the FAQ! ANd sure enough if they take the time it's there! Other times even a topic that has been beaten to death several times can aquire new life and interest because technology changes a lot in seo. For those not fimilar with seo it means search engine optimization and is ironically similar to lock picking in some ways accept we learn ways to manipulate search engines instead of locks
I could see why most of those were banned. Obviously if illegal activity is a reason I understand. But a couple simply disagreed with forum rules and were banned. I respectfully disagree with that as it makes it appear some mods are ban happy and or arrogant. I'm not saying I believe that to be true, I'm just saying that is how it can appear to some. It also creates a climate of fear, like you have to be as careful as walking on egg shells. Neither is good for any one. One should not be afraid to disgree or question. The old saying if you don't like it theres the door applies beautifully, but for heavens sake lets not throw them out permentently. Just my 2 cents and I fully understand that forum mods are free to mod any way they like and no one has to poin me to the door
All in all I find this forum very useful and love to share when I can. Obviously being so new I can't share too much yet. And I'm sure given enough time I will see the same questions asked repeatedly enough times for me to feel like you do now. I feel that way on most seo forums! Oh no here we go again, whats a sandbox, how long will I be in the sandbox, what can I do to get out, on and on. And even in those forums there are people who will disagree with forum rules, no biggie, every one is entitled to their opinion. I have never seen any one banned for questioning forum rules before. Only those who repeatedly break forum rules. Three strikes and your out! They get three warnings, thats it. As long as they do not attack any one, they can disagree with what ever they like, ultimately they know where the doors is!
Cheers!
