Ruko lock with pin in keyway which insert's into hole in key.Any info on this type of cylinder,and what does the pin do.Is it to prevent bumping.

Man, who comes up with the names for these things. Ruko sounds like a Japanese guy, not a lock. I think the higher the security-- the weirder and absurd the name. I know Abloy is the result of combining of two words, but Mattuaro sounds like a disease, Kaba sounds like a fighter from Mortal Kombat, and Schlage sounds like a German guy clearing his throat (no offense to the Germans). Can't anyone come up with normal names for high-security locks?

Hehe. I recently found out what EVVA stands for... "Erfindungs-Versuchs-Verwertungs-Anstalt". Quite a bit of a mouthful as well.

Erfindung(s) = invention
Versuch(s) = Experiment
Verwertung = tough, in this context it prolly means the process of turning an idea into an actual product... realisation would maybe a good term.
Anstalt = facility.
