Starter recommendations: Picks and locks

I'm new here and I've had alot of trouble with which picks i should buy and which lock. I have spent around 6 hours with the lock on the side of the house, with a safety pin and the screwdriver/nailfile on a small pocketknife. I have opened it and can do it in 24.37 seconds (yes, I do like to time myself). So I'm going to replace the lock with a Schlage. I need some recommendations on some picks and some good beginner 5 pin tumblers. Please include where to get them. Thanks :D

Ebay are a good source of locks for practise,

Please do not pick locks you rely on even if you do intend to change them, unless you have the replacement lock in your hand then leave the locks on the house alone until you do,

You need to tell us where you live in order for better advice and where that is depends on what picks you should be getting as differant parts of the world use differant sizes, but im guessing your US based so you need regular picks and the sets the site sponcer sells would be a good start point,

The South Ords are a good begineer set and basically you need to see what you can afford, theres no real need o go for the big sets with the lower numbers being pretty good from get go for learning,

Have a look for the discount code on site and you can get 10% discount,

The best thing you can do is read some of the topics in the forum. Also, use the search button, it will help you find what you are looking for. The cheapest and quickest way to get a lockpick and tension wrench is to make your own which is what i did. It's entirely up to you, use your best judgement. I agree with Shrub, Southord is a good manufacturer of lock picks. The 5 piece kit would be perfect for you.

Thanks. But what about locks? I just looked at
viewtopic.php?p=4276#4276 and none of those sites you can order from online.
