I never knew of such a site! I read an article on MSNBC today discussing this. As a child I was always amazed that people could do this. I look forward to having some fun now. I look forward to meeting and communicating with you all.

Well, I've been lurking for some time, decided to finally register as I'm going to try and get into the field moreso than I had previously.

When I was younger I worked for a body shop and did repo and towing work so my first intro into locksmithing was strictly automotive related and none too sophisticated . I met a friend throught that job that was a locksmith and learned some of the inner working of the locks. The mechanics of it interested me more than anything alse. Never have really learned any real 'lockpicking'.

Recently decided the legal field was just too full of unethical pricks so I decided to get into my true love of fixing/restoring and fabricating cars and parts. Moved from Boston down to here and have found that there are none too many locksmiths about so I'm tossing the idea around of finally taking the FB course. I think that's about it.

So, you have no legitimate interest in lockpicking, and just want to learn lockpicking so you can break into property you don't own, have a boozer with alcohol you're not old enough to legally possess or drink, and likely trash the place in the process. Sorry, but I doubt you're going to find that kind of help here, and I'd discourage you from even trying it, considering that a large party with vast quantities of alcohol for underage consumption in a public place is likely to attract police attention, and it will only take one person pointing the finger at you to get yourself in a whole lot of trouble.

Hey guys, I'm like extremely interested in lock picking just for the shear fun of it. I'm not the type of kid who's going to pick locks to get in places I shouldn't be, but rather practice on my own house and if I ever get really good at it, go to a hardware store and pick all the locks they got lol

Alan, as you get older you'll learn, apparently the hard way, that the infamy you crave is patently worthless and hurts you in the long run, both financially and with regard to your stature in the community.

Additionally, those sorts of actions get you labeled as stupid, idiotic, immature and irresponsible. All tags that do not go away easily and will go hand in hand with the asinine infamy you sooo crave now in your youth. True fame/infamy (in a good sense anyway) that is worthwile takes years to earn.

I know the retort 'big deal' (or some other inane/ignorant drivel). It will be a big deal later in life.

Should I mention how many things may be effected by having an arrest, even as a minor, later in life? No, I'm sure you'll not care... now anyway.

I have actually done that - I went to a Lowe's store and picked all of the Master padlocks open. They were all hanging from O-rings off of the display shelf. Then I closed each one and left the store. Nobody seemed to even take notice as I did all of this.

I also did a similar type of thing at a locksmith's shop on one of the combination dial safes, a type which also had a wafer tumbler cylinder mounted adjacent to the combination dial. The kid at the front counter was chatting away on the telephone to somebody as I did this. He never even bothered to pause and ask me if I needed any assistance. So after I picked this lock, I just left the shop.

"Don't pick locks you rely on"

hey to all the guys on this site just wanted to introduce my self in a way = D kinda getting into the whole lock picking thing just now kinda found it that i need to know it after i got locked out of my house by my room mate = / ..... if any of u guys that are good at this want to throw me a hint or 2 i woulnt mind well laters
