I bought a set of three pad-locks (keyed alike)...just generic, no name.

I can open one...the other two are driving me crazy!

perhaps the spring differences are what make them harder or easier. more force or less force on each pin. or perhaps one is dirtier than the others, that too can account for one lock being harder to pick than the others as well. or perhaps just the very small variations and tolerances in construction, the key would still work, but it might makle picking much different.

all i can say is to treat each lock like they are one of a kind and try to pick each one like it is new.

generic keyed alike, locksmiths buy these by the case, and when someone comes in and asks for KA locks, they just take as many as needed from the box, if you have locked dumpsters in your town, they are probably all KA and your key to the KA locks may work,

so you are saying, that i might be able to get a key to city things if i see what brand lock they are and ask for a 3 set of keyed alike locks of that same brand by the locksmith that did the city ones?

hmmm...most interesting. not that there is anything to find in my town other than drugs and . but yeah.
