Master lock's new gimmick

Information about locks themselves. Questions, tips and lock diagram information should be posted here.

Yeah, it seems like Master Lock is not only guilty of encouraging the use of recreational drugs, but also trespassing. The decay of Western Society continues...

If i was a thief.. i would proboly go for that lock.. forget the bike man lock at this thing glow! Or you come out to you bike at night to see stoners and acid heads all gathered around your lock, or the roswell inhabitants bowing to it..

Or if oyu put it on an out house for a late night crap.. you have a light? just don't drop it down. Ha we used to have an outhouse at our cabin.

Glow In The Dark Shims

Postby Bud Wiser » 11 Aug 2006 10:35

Well I have some of my manufacturing buddies working hard as we speak on making glow in the dark shims just for the glo in the dark masters! I will keep you posted on this break through technology!

(seriously, glo in the dark isn't that bad an idea for combo locks if it helps seeing the numbers)

Well if they spent.. what did barry say? an extra 2 cents to incorporate a double ball then i would be worth it, and it would glow.

Ha you know i wish there was a bong and smoke rising from the ground into the kids faces. It would simply cature the moment better.

And some shims... anybody for a little photoshop-fu? Make the picture correct! :) ..seriously do it!.. i don;t have phto shop :x

Throw some waffels in there to, they might get hungry :)

Just looked at one at staples, they can open with a key as well :) looks to have about 3 pins? It was hard to see crammed into the packaging, but it had a big "OPENS WITH DIAL OR KEY!!!" sign busting out of some star on the package.

oh, also?

The key doesn't glow when you insert it...but that would be kinda cool.

SOoooooo, I guess this is master lock completely giving up on the, it takes a bullet campaign and throwing out entirely we make products that actually make your equipment more secure, huh, so who's being held accountable.

Plus I don't remember if it was Barry, but yes, about 2 cents and a little change in the machinery on the assembly line and you could make the lock much more secure, with a double ball lock, seriously I have a Abloy that's slightly smaller overall than the masterlock, and it has a double ball mechanism.

::shakes head::

Thanks for the seconded opinion eric, i thin it was at a defcon conference, rember the one where they had the huge mul- t lock lock cutawy one of two avaible.

Sweet work on that picture  Hey WAIT!! wheres the bong smoke! Ha i say each member sends an email with that picture in it to master lock.

I might put print it and put it with the master locks in walmart, and in the locker room at the gym... so people invest in abus :)

We're not suppose to tell anyone, but the anti-drill inserts Medeco uses are actually the same depleted uranium they use for A-10 Warthog .50 Caliber bullets.

Haha, nice, I would think it would be a better throw back to the old chests of lore where the lock smith would come in to open the lock and the manufacturer would put tear gas in the box and not tell anyone.

Actually I think tritium would be the best deterent instead the person doesn't know what he's got till too late.

OOOoorrr better yet, anyone know what tritium is or does? Especially in a Nuclear device.

Here's a hint it doesn't just make the bomb go boom even more.

Well if you guys ever break, any tritium loaded compasses or gun sights or whatever walk out of the room until the stuff dries, it's really not healthy.

But uh, the tritium bombs the US and possibly other governments have used it for is a last remants attack if the original blast and radiation doesn't get the inhabitants the tritium will, extremely nasty stuff I'll reiterate.

-Eric

P.S. Hey Squelchtone, how was the rest of defcon for ya I did't see you on the final day.
