I'm gonna try pyro's tutorial

When it comes down to it there is nothing better than manual tools for your Lock pick Set, whether they be retail, homebrew, macgyver style. DIY'ers look here.

I think hacksaw blades where made for handels, every one i made bent or broke, i have a few left, there okay

I always use wiper inserts and put handles on them.

Seen you picks though very nice.

Not quenching doesnt make the metal brittle it makes it soft,

Heating up and then letting go cold natualy makes them soft,

Heating up very hot and then quenching makes them brittle,

He said he never quenched thus meaning he let them go cold naturaly so that means they are now soft if he got them too hot,

personally, it took longer for me to grind down picks then it did Pyro. The first pick I made was a half diamond, it looked nice to someone who had never seen a real pick before (me). I tested it on a lock....too big. I grinded some more...still too big. I ground it down a lot more, and on the last swipe....the tip fell off. Didn't fly, didn't bounce, didn't even make a cool noise, it just sorta dropped off. I was working real slow on that first one, and I felt the depression of thirty minutes of work die. Or rather, fall off.

what type of picks did you make?

I'v made a half ball hook type pick, snakes and a couple jigglers.

The shaft of my picks are 2mm in width and they have lasted me pretty
long.
