taking apart an abus padlock? need help

taking apart an abus padlock? need help

ok so i have this abus padlock that looks like the one in this picture:

but the engravement on the front is N 60/40 and it is not sawn-off

and i want to know wether it can be taken apart easily and how i should go about it... i havent taken apart any locks before and am a bit of a noob.. i read the (sticky^) about taking them apart and dont realli know where to start...

any help is appreciated...

I have never taken apart an Abus myself, and I seem to have the feeling that it needs to be drilled, but Im not sure.

Someone else can hopefully fill you in.

Ooh, just though of something, did you unlock it, and look down the shackle hole to see if there's a screw, nut, whatever that you can undo?

This might release the core.

Just a blind guess.

Hahaha, been a while since I last saw that cut-away made by skold. :)

Read Jeebus's guide to dissasemble padlocks, and if you fancy give it a go. This technique involves using heat so follow the advice regarding protection.

Barring this, you will need to identify the holes where the chambers of the pins where drilled and drill them using a Dremel. You'll need to plug the holes back up later, but you should be able to get the pins and springs out. :wink:
