Bump keys on ebay?

Postby Biff » 29 Jul 2006 12:09

I was browsing ebay and came across this:
http://cgi.ebay.com/BUMP-KEYS-SET-OF-5- ... dZViewItem

Am I the only one who thinks it might not be the best of ideas to sell bump keys on ebay? Well, nevertheless, the person selling them says, "I don't know how these are used...."

I just want to know what some of the people on here think of this.. :-/

Bump keys are now not allowed on ebay, but depth keys are.

Did ebay really catch on that quickly to the bumpkey thing, or are you just saying that because they technically don't allow any kind of locksmith bypass tools? I just checked the link, and it's still up, so I doubt that they're currently doing anything about it because they're probably not aware of it.

I think eBay may have caught on because of a seller on eBay selling a tool designed by one of the members here. See

viewtopic.php?t=14010&start=60

for more information on that. Note that that auction is over a week old and has also ended.

Just for the record so you know, I purchased that very set, and they are simply depth keys plain and simple.

In fact afdter I purchased them I got a ebay message from another person you also purchased them and he asked me if mine worked, it seems he could not get his to work. You think I should have told him why?
