I have a Brinks padlock that I've decided to take apart, a largish one of the pile-of-plates variety. I found another thread:
http://www.lockpicking101.com/viewtopic.php?t=1890
where is was suggested that these locks might come apart fairly easily once the end caps of the rods were removed. However, I have sawed the ends off of all eight rods and yet neither the rods nor the final plate are moving easily.
Do these locks commonly have any additional welding to hold the plates together or the rods in place, or am I just not using enough force to knock it apart?
Thanks for any help.
