Hello all, just joined this forum. Im very nw to picking, although i made my first set of picks 2 days ago at work, and picked my first lock, about 20 times last night. it was a Masterlock 575 http://www.masterlock.com/cgi-bin/produ ... mplate=app Supposedly 'maximum pick resistance'... It originallyh took me 20 minutes to pick it the first time to figure out what i was doing, now it tkaes me all but 5 minutes to do, although i know good pwople could do it in 1 or 2. I also tried picking my Titan deadbolt, but after 45 minutes of trying i just could not do it. It is a very "loose" lock, kinda old, and im wondering if that has anything to do with it. Any advise anyone could give me ill take to heart, thanks guys, and this is a wonderful forum!

Ill upload pics of my picks if anyone wants to see them.

is the 575 a pretty easy pick? I thought i would never get it until, click!, but i thought the tension wrench had fallen out. To my auprise it didnt and the lock clicked open.

Those look pretty good for a starter set. The pick heads look a little small for my tastes. You might wanna check through the "Homebrew Hall Of Fame" thread. There you will find pics of picks made from pics of other picks. Take your pick. :P

I can't see the tips of the bottom two picks, but mine look almost identical to the bottom pick in length. The tip of the top pick could be a little more sloped, it looks almost vertical and that makes it hard to slide past the pins.

nice picks though, way to do some solo work before coming to the forum, people here appreciate that.

jeeze, im gone for a week and already 3 people change their sigs! ( nice one by the way db ) back on the original subject, you wont find a lock that doesnt say "maximum pick resistance!!!!" (propaganda) because most people will believe them, and since its not specific, they can technically say it and get away with it. I had a luggage lock that said that and i could pop it open just with the tension wrench  . since you can get that padlock open, now try going for one that says it has security pins...that should be fun :D good luck and good job on your first picks.
It's ok guys, i have a really bad attention sp-wow look, a beach!
