question on master and american lock cylinders

Information about locks themselves. Questions, tips and lock diagram information should be posted here.

question on master and american lock cylinders

Postby devildog » 14 Aug 2006 16:37

Are the Master W6000 and regular American cylinders interchangeable?? I was under the impression that they were since Master owned American and they were based on the 'standard' padlock cylinder size. I've got two Master 6327 Pro Series rekeyable padlocks and I've got some American cylinders that just don't want to go in there. Please don't tell me I've got two empty padlock bodies with nothing to stick in them...

Oh piss off.

I just talked to the guy who sold them to me, he doesn't think they're interchangeable but he says that Master does make cylinders with American keyways to fit this lock. If I get those I assure you I'll be replacing the pins in them with American serrated key and driver pins throughout.

Oh no, not at all. People have been inferring sarcasm and humor for centuries before without the use of smileys  :P
