key clipper

Postby raimundo » 14 Aug 2006 8:00

about the key clipper, there may be a way of cutting by code if there is a scale marked on there, or perhaps you clamp the blank to the key your copying and the upper edge of the clipper jaw is the stylus that stops against the key being copied, when both are clamped together

Alright, I just came across this: http://key04.co.kr/key/mall.php?cat=002 ... view&no=45

Which should be a link to 13 Song's Clipper. The pictures seem to have a little better detail. Are these for automotive work? (as this seems to be the bent of a lot of the 13 song product line) or can they be used on regular keys?

(if the answer to this is "automotive, and that's advanced, so stop asking" I dig, and will. Just curious. :) )

I've emailed them for a price quote to compare to the other 2.

i copied my house key with it. the one from the 13 place has more markings on it then the lockpicks.com one. they look real close but i wish i had those guide lines on mine. i do have the faint ones up closer to the cutter but i don't have the other ones. i could put them there i guess. when i emailed lockpicks he said it would cut anything you put in it and he was wright. they also cut wiper blades :) i don't have the handle covers either. there built the same it looks like. inside the block there are thick gear teeth. so it's just two pieces well three the cutter block has two Allen wrench nuts in it. the one i have is heavy duty.

Southord sells sets of all types of lockpicks, it is way cheaper to buy them together too.

Has any one purchased any thing from New Sparkling? If so, how long did it take to get your order? Where you pleased with your order?

Thanks.

Yes. recently got plug spinner (4071); pick set (4041); tubular pick (4039); plus one or two other items.

Bud Wiser wrote:how long did it take to get your order?

six days

Bud Wiser wrote: Where you pleased with your order?

Yes.

As above, I ordered a few things and was pleased with the prices and service so far. I was in email communication with the guy for a couple of weeks before ordering trying to check the company out and to get a discount. Basically, the more you order from them the bigger the discount but don't expect greater than about 10% off quoted prices. Best bet would be for someone to organise a group buy and pass around the discounts - you will also be able to negotiate spare needles for various tools to be thrown in.

The plug spinner works in either direction in increments on 45 degrees but after 180 it gets too stiff. The only issue I had with the spinner is that the needles are too thick for European locks so I will be grinding them down. Overall a lot cheaper than similar stuff from standard suppliers.

The tubular pick works as designed and does exactly what it says on the tin. Someone else on the forum had an issue with a needle breaking so I just asked for 2 spares and got them. I've had no problems so far.

The pick set is comprehensive and since it has been reviewed elsewhere I won't go into the specifics of each pick. Enough to say that if you are into hooks then the set is heaven with 11 of the 29 picks being hooks (all different). As well as hooks you get extractors; rakes; matadors; etc. Compared with the SO Euro pickset that I have the handles are rubber instead of metal and easier to work with especially if you have any pain issues with your hands. Overall I'm pleased with the decision. BTW: the tension wrenchs that are included do not count towards the total of 29 items

Next step is to put them through their paces on my set of locks to see if then are as efficient as SO and also to see how robust they are.

Apologies for not postings pics since I don't have a digital camera. Either way you can go onto their site to see the tools themselves.

In relation to prices, since people have been quoted different amounts I suggest you ask the guy for a pricelist which he will supply in a spreadsheet in $ € and £. Payments by paypal & credit cards.

That's all for now.

New Sparkling

Postby Prodigy » 9 Oct 2006 15:45

I have ordered all of the tools, they are from Singapore. The Singapore supplier is just that a supplier.

It was prompt delivery, however the quality of the tool's are not that flash. The tools from the Szhuang are much better and infact they are the same as Lockmasters. I do beleive they are the manufactures for them.

Some of the tools were rusting and poorly put together and would last for a little while.

I have managed to strike a deal with New Sparkling for supplies to Australia and USA. So if anybody has problems with not gettting supplied or not wanting to ship let me know (PM). I will see if I can help.
