DoorKnob.... man I'm feelin dumb

This door knob is making me feel dumd can't figure out how to take it apart to rekey the cylinder( yeah I know it's cheap but I want to do it for personal reasons) I have an idea of how but it's not solid and I think I may maqke the knob itself N/S so.... Help me ....man this make me feel sooo nOOb. cheap wiser knock off has me stumped... I can strip highsecurity locks just fine... well pics below

It might be impossible to take apart. I had one which I fiddled with for days, and I ended up having to dremel it open.

not sure if this will work on this knob, but some cylinders (especially american ones like westlock, corbin etc)can be removed, by carefully prying the cylinder, out of the FRONT of the knob using small screwdrivers, or pointed tools, because they are only held in by spring pressure,some times there might be a decorative ring, which has to be removed first. after repinning, the cylinder is just pressed back into the housing, and the ring replaced,hope this helps.

Pick one direction, then pull up on the long piece sticking up out of then end. Try to remove the knob. If that does not work then try picking the other direction and doing the same and see if that works. If not, we will re-evaluate da situation .

i can't tell from your picture- on the ring between the rosette and the actual knob, there is an indentation. it is fuzzy- so i can't tell if it is just an indentation, or if it is a slot. if it is a slot, with the handle unlocked, rotate it. you should see a flat piece of metal, about a centimeter long and a milimeter or so wide-

depress this with a tool while pulling on the handle.

with some locks, the key must be turned in the cylinder (or the plug picked, either way) and turned to a specific position for this to work- you can apply pressure to the tab while turning the key, and when you feel it depress (the tab of metal) then pull

I've tried zeke suggestion and it has not worked.

BTW I am familar with doorknob disassmbly, just not this one. I'm thinking that the indents just above the roset need to be 'popped' out for the handle to come out.... thoughts

I have a Kwikset knob that I can't get disassembled either. It is made nearly like that one. It is the one that has the crimped places like that but does not have a tab for removal. The front of the knob appears to be 2 pieces.

Can anyone tell me how to disassemble this type of knob? I have been totally unsuccessful at this point.

The answer to this could also help UWSDWF with his knob since they look very similar in their construction.

Pull the metal rod ( see arrows in the picture) away from the face of the
lock . while holding the rod "out" . pick or use a key... turn 90 degrees .. pull ... the cylinder will come out the face similiar to a kwickset
