Well buddy.. all i can do is tip my hat and give a clap, and i dont mean that in a smart way. Its great that your practicing and working hard enough for that, perhaps a right of passage?
I had the same fingers when i first started guiatr, and everyone knows until you get guitar fingers meaning Caluses.. that spelled wrong but that call it guitar fingers.. more slang but you get the idea.
Also when i first started construction i had baby hands. 4 years later, i have scars cuts, you name it.
But either way, shows your persistance, well done mate(tips hat)

I practice a lot too. I still usually pick 30 to 40 locks a day. I made all my own picks, but used wiper blade inserts for picks as well as tension wrenches. The larger inserts out of ANCO brand 16" or 20" blades work very well for picks. Their only downfall is thin handles, but I make double ended picks and rivet two together so it stiffens them up. Then I put heatshrink over the handle part and that makes them pretty comfortable to use. Needless to say that they are also quite easy on the fingers.
And LockNewbie21, I play guitar too, so I know exactly what you're talking about on the guitar fingers. When I first started playing guitar I nearly wore my fingerprints off, or at least it looked like it, and man do they get sore! I've got my "guitar fingers" now though!

When i started out with Southord picks my fingers were getting a little abused, then went to HPC, which BTW are much better quality, it reduced some abuse. Recently I purchased a set of Peterson pics with rubberized gritted handles and they are truly the best. Excellent quality picks, and the best handles on the market. Now my hands look younger then my 21 year old son's hands

My fingers still get abused though, becuase i only have an acoustic.. well the pickups fried on my electric, so i am saving for an Ibanez.
I really want to get my hands on some HPC or peterson rubber grips.

Thx, to be honest since I'm still practicing a lot I spare my Peterson picks my brutal noob handling and use my HPC for practicing. You do know you can buy a terrific 14 pc HPC set for around $24! Thats less then I paid for my southord and what I got. Great set, you can feel the difference in the quality. The hpc's have stainless steel handles that are smooth. Nothing like cheaper sets like Majestic (know some one with a set of majestics).
The only thing I use my southord set for now is to open my mail
Even if I was skilled better in making picks, I could never meet the quality level of HPC or Peterson. Unless I had my own machine shop, I don't.

Yeah, but putting heat shrink on ALL your picks could take a while. Better still, you should heat shrink thumb. Then ya only gotta do it once!

Hehe, yup, your fingerprint has now been stolen. If you get reports of your fingerprints being found crime scenes in the UK, I had *nothing* to do with it.
I do freerunning, and my fingers are covered in blisters and callouses now. Picking with unpolished SO picks feels like tickling compared to sharp bricks and sharp barbed wire lmao.
