Two-sided lock tutorials?

I've gotten down basic one-sided locks, are there any decent tutorials on two-siders out there?

Like two sided wafer locks? Same as one sided, but you just need to alternate picking sides.

don't mean to be mister smarty arse - but what are the two sided picks for? the ones that look like a hacksaw blade that has been ripped/milled down the middle and has two pick "heads" - where are these picks used? I had always thought that it was for for two sided locks (I have never even worked on a lock that has two sets of pins in it...). Hope this does not come across as sarcastic, any help or info is always appreciated..

I have been trying to pick one side, turn and hold them in place and then try to get to the other side.

I believe you are supposed to use them in a rocking action, but am not entirely certain. I haven't had personal experience with them, but have read a bit about them...I'm sure some more knowledgable person can give you more details.

Ive seen info about using these somewhere on here.

I think AMP is right, they're used in a rocking and in out motion.

Like I said, I think ive seen something on here about using them.

I looked into them because it's one of those things on my list of tools to by...I would just say to search around here, and use the search tool...there's bound to be something here. Sorry, don't have a magic answer. :lol:

I hate to call them picks because to me you are just raking both sets or pins or wafers at the same time. They can save you a LOT of time because most double sided locks I see are pretty easy to rake. I cheat sometimes and leave my double sided picks thicker than standard picks to use the tool itself as the tension wrench. The only complex double sided locks I have encountered were on some import cars.

They are the first picks i made, when i have used them on the very rare occasions ive used them as rakes,

Are you taking about those huge black one form liek lock pick shop.com?

I'd assume there thick enough for say a GM sidebar and its very freindy springs

Or are they like what .005 i think's the normal pick thickness? I am either on or way off with the thickness (guestimate)

I would proboboly Opt for a double wafer pick made by ray.. i can imgain sitting there sanding those things down.

If by .005 you mean five thousands of an inch, you are a bit thin, normal picks start at .015 and go as thick as .030.

Hi i also have read abit about these double sided picks and have just assumed they were for disc tumbler locks or wafer locks like the ones used on sum motorcycle locks . cheerz
