Abloy 350 Padlock

Just a quick question. Bought a new Abloy 350/50 padlock EXEC key (in USA)
and it has 7 code discs.
I was told by the seller it had 9. After looking it up it seems the 7 code disc
cylinders are used in the Abloy small Cam locks.

1. Do the number of code discs (7, 9, 11, ect..) matter for security reasons?
2. Should I send the padlock back and demand a 9 or 11 disc for this lock?

Paid alot of money for this lock. What should I do?

As long as your sure it has 7 disks, and not nine, Id send er back on the grounds that the seller told you it had 9, and you paid a lot for it.

As for security reasons, it kinda matters and nine disks does make it harder to pick, but to even pick a 7 disk version youd need a REALLY determined thief....

n2oah is correct. There will be 2 profile disks and 7 coded disks.

I doubt too many thieves would even be able to pick a schlage, let alone an Abloy, though Abloy's have other ways of being opened, though they aren't exactly NDE techniques.

Being a 350, I've got to imagine there's 11 discs in there, a 0 to start, plus 10 more. Now some may be 0s again, such that they may have used a key designed for a Cam lock (with 7 cuts) and topped off the cylinder with 3 zeros. The overall pick resistance (as if someones gonna pick it) should really not be affected.
It was designed (the 350) to have a ten cut key in most keyways. Not too sure of the Exec keyway, as that's one of the ones we don't deal with, but from what I remember in seeing an Exec key, the spacings are the same as in their 492A, Elite, and Pro series keys.

with abloy even 7 code disks is more than enough really. that would make for almost 300,000 possible combinations.
