HELP! lol (GINO lock Inox Springs)

Postby PinSmasher » 18 Aug 2006 1:17

ok, ive got like 10 different padlocks and door locks and assorted goodies and ive got my rakes and hooks and diamonds and well i ran across this old lock in my house today still in the package.

It says on the lock.

GINO
Inox Springs

The package says 4 dollars.

Well, this god lock wont pop !

I cant find any info on the lock or a tear down or anything. Anyone ever seen one of these ? Its been 2 hours and this thing wont pop.

The farthest ive made it is 4 pins and it has 5. but usually when i get three down the pins lock up and i cant move them any more. I dont know whats going on lol.

Anyone got info on this bad boy ?

its the springs. no kidding. i have a newly aqcuired VIRO padlock that has INOX springs in it and inserting the KEY is hard. so its the springs. hwy not go with a lock that is easier to open. how n00b are you? you have picks, but only one post. so how knowledgable are you really?

Well im mostly self taught but i know my basic techniques and i can pick single pins at a time and recognise when thier set. I can do a couple master locks and all the kwiksets. I just thought this would another cheapie but its prooved to be the hardest lock ive ever encountered. ive spent 4 hours on it. Not succeeding once. ive gotten 4 down and set a couple times but usually three.

And your right. The springs do resist ALOT.

If the springs are too strong, I'd recommend you to use a pickgun or snapgun on them for a few seconds. Just don't overdo it or you might ruin the lock. This also works for sticky or rusty pins. It will help loosen the pins/springs.
If all fails, use nitroglycerine.

what ive been doing to loosen (hopefully) the springs in this VIRO lock i have is to play with it alot. and not with picks, but with the key, in and out over and over and over until it loosens up a bit, im hoping this will pretty much wear it down a bit.

if this doesnt work then ill probably just thermite the thing.

I have a big Viro lock, keyway is not badly warded, but those stainless steel springs (inoxidable) are a real pain, these springs make picking really hard.
