does anyone know what he does for a living, I'm pretty sure he is not a lock smith he just does all this for fun, but what does he actually do?

Judging from all the travels he does I would assume that is his work. Also, he now has a great opportunity to market a lot of tools of the trade off his blog. If I was a manufacturer of a high end company, say like Wendt, I'd give Barry some tools to play with just so he has some thing to write about on his blog

He does get paid as a security consultant with regards to his lockpicking stuff, i.e. physical security stuff. He also is really into crypto (I think that's what he did before TOOOL), and has a product called 'Crypto-phone' that's a nifty looking encrypted cell phone.
