Is it really a Medeco Biaxial lock?

I was looking at this ebay listing, and I was wondering if this Medeco Lock was the biaxial lock with sidebars. Seems like a cheep price for a Biaxial to play with. Let me know if this lock is the infamous Medeco Biaxial lock that everyone is talking about. I havent gotten to play with one, and would love the chance to see what they are about, thanks for any help.

Looks like a standard Federal padlock with a Medeco IC core....nothing special...IMHO

No, it's a five pin. Biaxial are locks are hard because they require you to rotate and elevate the pin correctly to open the lock. The rotation is checked with a sidebar, which makes feeling if the pin is set (rotationally) or not difficult. To add to the difficult feeling, the pins also have false sidebar gates.

how can you tell how many pins it is? I counted eight valleys...but maybe being a biaxle would change that...or I'm stupid.

I counted 6 cuts/valleys on the key which means it is most likely a 6 pin as n2oah stated.

What's wierd is the advertiser says it's a 6 pin G3....i must be seeing things...but the second cut looks like blank height to me....probably a 0

No, that is caused by the biaxial fore and aft cuts and a left right rotation configuration of the cuts. There is no cut there.
