I hope its not against the rules to post this many pics, I didnt know that they would show up that big(sorry about that), and I tried to just post the site name, but I screwed up. If its not ok, you can take this topic off, and I will try to post it again without pics.
I read all the rules, and didnt see anything about having too many pics, so I think its ok, But i just wanted to apologize in advance if there was any problems.

Whilst your pick set is admirable....being a locksmith...and having seen and used many tools in my time....I personally would never need as many tools as you have...
IMHO...you would do fine with jus a couple of turningwrench's and a rake or two, a hook, a ball, a double ball, a diamond and a couple of extractors.
A pick gun would be helpful too but not ultimately necessary...altho I am glad to have one.
Perhaps some ward picks, some mortice picks and maybe some six-lever picks is all you need IMHO..

I'm with you on the pick gun, More fun to have than necessary.
And I already have some ward picks, but Since I dont have any Mortice locks, I havent bothered to get any mortice picks, I should look into them. also I havent heard of a six-lever picks, I'll have to look that up.
And your right, I dont use half the stuff that I've got. Oh well, fun to have.

do you use the rakes in the bottom pic often? I thought about trying to make some, but all I have as of now is a grinder and the results weren't pretty...
I just got back from wal-mart where I picked up one of those re-pinnable gold Brinks padlocks, they seem like a really neat idea. do you (or anyone else, feel free to sound off) know if it has security pins in it?

In my 6th picture down, The lock in the top left is the lock your talking about. Rather easy to pick, But I'm not sure if it has any spool pins in it, I havent taken it apart yet, just got it today as well. I'll let you know in the morning if it does.

I would say get some high security locks, like Medeco, and the such.
Nice collection, did you buy them all new from the store? (locks)

I'm not up to picking security pins yet. Mine has a high low combo that's difficult too, I tried picking it but couldn't seem to get the very back pin, I figured it was just that so I took out the core and switched the five pins for a very easy combo: 1,2,3,4,5. I try picking that for a couple seconds before I peeped in the keyhole, since the first pin was the smallest I could just make out the bottom ribblet of the serrerated top pin in the first position. My emotion was something like this but with small tears...
so, if you find a way to get at the top pins and springs, I'd be very appreciated if you would share it with the rest of us.
See as how I doubt I'll be able to pick it for a while and I didn't pin it to a certain key, I'll be practicing on my security pins Thanks.

I just took a second look...it appears that it might not be a serration-it looks like it's just a reflection from the roof...although there's still a chance....I'm just guessing now.

Well, the package says that it has security pins, But as you can see from my video, Its not like its hard to get around them. I can single pick this lock, takes a little more time(not much), but I just wanted to show you how silly it is that they call this a "MAX" security lock. Its really too easy for words.

And yeah, I bought all my locks from the stores around me. I like to pick, and I like to have variety. My girlfriend thinks I'm going a little over board though, lol

see...the problem was I clicked it the first time and it wasn't available, so I just clicked to a different tab and surfed youtube, refreshing it every now and then. after fourty five minutes of this I looked at the address at the top of the page:
http://www.youtube.com/index?unavail
crap. youtube had forwarded me to the 'unavailable' page and I just kept refreshing that.

Im really not sure what your on about here maybe if you filled out your profile we would know where you are and give some credit to what you are saying but almost every locksmith i know of has at least 10 times the amount of tools that you say you have/use, i personally have more than 30+ times that but i am in the uk and need more tooling than someone in the US,
Please if your goign to give such broad opinions tell us where you base them on,
To Lucky1406, reasonable couple of tool sets you have of course you could do with more
Your 2 suggestions are a good idea, maybe grab some loose pins and make your own pinning set up, if your not doing the picking professionally then maybe leave the tubular pick,
Do not get a pickgun as they are almost worthless for hobby pickers but if you have the cash free and want a play a manual one can be fun for a while,
