Will the Post Office Throw Away My Lockpicks Upon shipping?

Hello all, I've been lurking around here a few months and I think I'm ready to buy my first lockpick set.

I noticed when I went to checkout from lockpickshop.com that the site states that it's the buyer's responsibility to be a
"(1)lock manufacturer or distributor;
(2) a bona fide locksmith;
(3) a bona fide repossessor; or
(4) a motor vehicle manufacturer or dealer"
and that the postal service is legally able to trash the picks if they find them. Now it seems to me that there's a rather large amount of enthusiasts on this forum and I'm willing to bet that at least one isn't any one of numbers 1-4 and indeed has a lockpick set that they likely bought.

So what I'm asking is : what are the chances of my lockpicks getting trashed at the post office since I'm not any of numbers 1-4, but an interested possible-hobbyis? I'd hate to buy a $45 set and then have lost them. Or...is that 1-4 thing looked upon as sort of a "guidline" as opposed to a "regulation", sort of a 'turn a blind eye' deal?

What part of the world are you in? And how would the post office know you're not one of the above?

so would you recommend the slimline's or the standard? After about 45 min of searching I can't find a pro's and cons or "what's better" type of post.

I would recommend buying a mix of each. Practice with the regular until you are good with the regular and then use the slim lines. In other words, put your own set together and buy a case to go with them if you really want to have a case .

lockpicks.com sends all their stuff through USPS whnever I order them and never had a problem. UPS also doesnt care.

Iv had the same worries about shipping to Australia. I still havent got enough dough to buy of net yet

i went through southord and they shipped via ups. and i think you could probably ship a box of dynamite surrounded by cocaine and they wouldnt know the difference.

On the other hand if UPS is shipping to England Im pretty sure their shipping agents here are Parcelforce and they have dogs running up and down the conveyor belt so putting Explosives or cocaine in with your picks might be a bad idea.

I've had lockpicking equipment shipped via UPS, and USPS, and had no problems whatsoever...and about anyone checking about whether your a lockie or not, well, never had anyone do that either. Just had them practically "Yell" it out at me in their website user policies. You'll be allright, hehe.

Oh, and yeah, I wouldn't put any weed or anthrax in with the picks.

I've purchased a couple of all band receivers from England a couple of times, you the ones with no frequency blocks, illegal in the USA unless your a cop or law enforcement agent. Went thru customs each time no prob. Even if discovered would have most likely went thru. Even though it's restricted, it ranks low on their priority list. Their looking for cocaine and dynamite!

So relax, nothing to worry about
