How's this sound for a starter set?

I'm preparing to buy :

Slim Line Euro - Japanese Lock Pick Set - 15 pc with Metal Handles
Tension Wrench - Long Twist Flex
Tension Wrench - Double-ended
TW-02 Tension Wrench - Short Twist Flex
TW-11 Tension Wrench - Thin Line Standard
LTTM-01 Medium Turning Tool .078

which brings the total to $44.70 before the shipping and 10% off.

Anyone recommend anything else?

You might like to invest in some warded lock picks, always useful if you ever come around any on the job, or in the hobby. Also, you might also want some rubber handles to go with them, its always nicer on the fingers. I like how you chose lots of tension wrenches. I am always in desperate need of more. Also, if this is your first pick set, you may want to go ahead and invest in multiple picks of the ones that you like(noobes can sometimes be heavy handed, I know I am), my favorite is the S Rake Lockpick, I broke one before I realised that you dont need to be rough with it. Hope this helps,
Nick

Also, maybe a plug spinner if you think that you may need one. I never have, but others say that they are a life saver. Though there are many past post's that explain how to make them really cheap,

Well, for me the S Rake lockpick works in most locks, so I use that one the most. I always order another feeler or two when ordering, different sizes really help. Cant ever have too many feeler picks(hook picks). The Long Double Ended Pick has also helped me immensely with Kwikset locks. And maybe a small half-diamond would be good as well. I always like to have an extra small half-diamond that I ground down for my extra small locks.

dont buy a plug spinner. and dont buy warded picks.

this is bad advice IMO. why? i have never needed warded picks. and why not a plug spinner? thats already been covered. you can make a really cheap one fairly easily.

so really, dont count on being some grade A locksmith before you have even layed your hands on any real tools. stick simple and then look to get more or other stuff later after you decide whether this is something you want to stick with.

If you mean somthing to turn the locks after youve picked it you mean all those extra turning wrenches you bought, if your worried about not being able to turn the lock with the wrenches or worried about bending them you could always use a screw driver.

It seems all I ever use is a reg hook, small hook, s shape rake, and half diamond. Some locks I do better with a sm hok, others a diamond. The diamond allows me to apply various techniques, but usually a hook is all that is needed. The S rake will open most of my locks easily with the right amount of tension.

Since I'm a noob I have a one pick set for my office, one set for my car, one set for my shop, one set for my bathroom (yes I do some of my best picking in the bathroom), and I also carry one set in my pocket and a mini set for my wallet and even a key chain set. I'm considering a pen pick set but feel it may be a little too much :)
