Official say on bumpkeying and discussion of...

I've been off of hear for almost two weeks, and was wondering what the official say was on talking about bumpkeying. Because some guy asked a few quesions, I gave some words and advice and then the thread was just deleted. So, like, what's the official say on discussing it? Thanks...

Hehe, I kinda was too, I mean, it's interesting, but not that interesting. then throw all these freakin' noobs into the mix, LOL. I don't know, I was just helping someone out and the thread was click deleted, so, I was just wondering if anyone came up with some official rules on it while I was gone.

That thread whichever it was must have had a reason for being locked or moved,

The official say is that its way of life, lets try and not make new posts all the time on the subject if its already been addressed before but otherwise its at the moment tolerated and accepted as a way of opening locks,

Well, it's been stated several times before that, officially, bumpkeys are cleared for public discussion, so if that thread was deleted I'm guessing it was due to something other than the fact that it was discussing bumpkeys. Perhaps the responsible moderator would be kind enough to tell you.

I just looked and i think the threads you refer to were removed because the OP obviously made no effort to actually search the site and look for his answers, he chose to post yet another thread on the subject that had no reasonable content,

If you must post bumkey threads make sure its simply not asking the same questions as the last 10 threads did,

I think this will become a norm to stop the site being over run with the things,

I didnt remove either but i did lock the second one which was an identical copy of the first,

Hehe, k, thanks, just wanted to get the matter straight....from now on I'll either use a usual comment of "SEARCH YOU FREAKIN NOOB!" or actually give them a link to useful information...not sure which to use, yet.

Its no differant to having 30 threads a week on picking a master number 3 lock, there will come a cut off piint where new posts will be removed,

Its not a case of hidden rules its a case of trying to keep a balence of site and not to constanly repeat the same thing over and over again,

Well it *is* an unwritten rule mate... but it's no biggy really.

I do actualy agree with the it, and the proof it's a good thing is seeing how many threads crop up when you punch "bump key" into the search engine... To actualy make the site more serach friendly, and reduce the number of repetitive threads is a cool idea.
