Where to find Practice Locks

Where can you usually get the best deal on practice locks of all types, door, padlock, etc? do you get them when on sale at a hardware store? buy from other members? anyone have any extras I'm starting out and want something other than my apartment door... I've gotten too many sideways glances . . .

Depending on your location.. you might want to try the thrift stores/ salvation army .. they almost always have locks with no keys ...... keep in mind a lock with no key is nothing more than a pretty fishing weight to most people .. 25 cent to $1.00 is my max. ( then again I am REALLY cheep) for a dollar it had better be a really good lock.. ask the guys who unload the trucks and sort stuff .. they probably have a box of them.

If you can't find anything as keysman suggests, you can always try ebay to buy a bunch of used cylinders, but you have to pay shipping..

The thrift shop is an excellent idea, and I'll also try the local locksmiths.

if you're in america (fill in your profile!) or certain cities around the world, you could do well to use craigslist.org wanted section. I put up a post for locks and recieved several replies and a huge assortment of different locks. I offered $1 a piece or less, some gave them freely, some took me up on the buck.

Every now and then I'll find one at a gun show w/o a key but the last lady I spoke with (although very nice) wanted $10 for a scratched up American with NO key. I politely declined needless to say.

i got mine from a hardware shop,you could also try a locksmith.Im pritty sure you want like,a 6 removable-pin lock,then look all over the place like people have said,car-boot sale,whatever.
