"Best" locks

Postby g5 » 30 Aug 2006 0:11

Has anyone had any experience with Best brand locks? Do they have their own type of key, or do they use a standard key (i.e. SC1, KW1, etc)? Easy/hard to pick? Thanks in advance.

I suggest you do a search for Best in the search maechanism at the top....theres alot of info there....

But....there are multiple profiles of Best SFIC and LFIC cylinders....

easy to pick with pick tools....never bumped one but i dont see why they would be any different than others...

globallockytoo has a point with the search feature. There's already a large number of threads discussing BEST keyways and technology, and there is no reason to repeat all of it here.

However, I will note BEST manufactures a very large number of keyways with picking difficulties ranging from easy to nearly impossible. It really depends on the particular lock's keyway and pinning.

Thanks! It looks like I'm probably dealing with an A or B, a BA at worst.

I'd like everyone who suggested the search feature to click it and type in best or BEST. You'll get a little message that says "No topics or posts met your search criteria." :(

Those should definitely NOT be shimmable with padlock shims. They are the new style BEST padlocks and use ball-bearing heal/toe locking mechanisms. Guaranteed quick way to ruin padlock shims.

I hope that the semi was yours, and that you didn't do anything illegal.... that would be bad...

Dont make us send you to the time-out room... that also would be bad...

One of those locks is construction keyed (red core). It belonged to someone.
