I once asked Locknewbie21 about the possibility of removing the core. Apparently he's tried it and here's the direction he gave me:
Ok take a look on the side of the lock you will see a hole, used for drainage of the lock and to apply lubrication, benieth it is a pin, what you need to do is get a very very strong drill bit, you can buy them at lows, i went through three black and decker bits on it, lol trust me on that one. Then carefully drill out the pin or retaining pin in technical terms, then after you have drilled out the pin, you will need to insert your key and turn the lock to the open postion, if the pin has been successfully removed the core should be able to be pulled out.
I haven't tried it yet, but it seems to have worked for Locknewbie21. Hope this helps-- and all thanks to Locknewbie21 if it does.
