I bought this Brinks lock after a big Kryptonite with cyl key was cut by bolt cutters

thinking that maybe it's more bolt cutter resistant. IS IT? I was looking and it looks like bolt cutters can still assume a position on it.

Should I return this Brinks lock to wal mart and exchange it for this one?

In summery, which of the two lock pics I posted is more bolt cutter resistant?

No, I'd keep the first one. It's a better quality lock over the round one which is easier to pick and probably easier to pry open too.

Just my 2 cents

Well, I'm in a hick area where people are bolt cutter happy not pick happy. So bolt cutter resistance is the priority.

Will you be using a chain too? If so it won't matter too much unless you drag around a 50 pound chain. If they can't cut the lock they will cut the chain.

Hopefully some one else may have a better option for you. But of the two locks you asked about, I would still pick the Shrouded. There probably is better alternatives though.

Good Luck!

No, no chain. It's going on a storage unit like this.

ohh, why didn't you say so. In that case you might want to return that lock and get the American model 2000!
take a look at it, it can't be cut! And it's only $20!

I like thoes, just one problem, no way to make it fit the slide lock on the storage as seen in the pic unless you were to cut out notches in the sides of the lock to make it fit on it.

I wondered about that too. You should be alright with either of your two locks. They don't give any room for a cutter. I was just not sure how much force the R70 could withstand from prying or banging. The shrouded feels more sturdy.

Now this could work if I use a good washer to keep the end from slipping though the hole.

Buddy.. ABUS DISCUS, there great buy it. If you have some money get the rotating disk tumbler model.. i doubt people will try and pick it.. but bumping seems to be on everyones mind and it can't be.

Or get a granite if your worried 10,000 pounds of cutting reistance is enough for me. Just go on ebay or a lockshop online and find one.
