A bit small for business use, but for the casual hobbyist just fine.

I agree. The motor is very small and not up to the task of every day use. Very sharp cutters are a must for the 008 and that will get into your pocket very quick. You will also miss not having a brush on the machine too.

the ilco008 is perfect for small tasks and would serve you for a considerable amount of time. If you're using it on a daily basis I would recommend something stronger - for all sorts of locksmith supplies you may find what you're looking for here: [xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx]locksmith supply[/url]

According to BUSCH, the kaba/ilco 008 duplicator "has key rake for deburring keys, and can be converted to cut flat steel keys by using Accessory Pack 27x."

I think I'll call them tomorrow to get a price quote. Seems like a dandy-enough machine for my needs, and would look nice next to my kaba/ilco Universal II code cutter. :D

The unit I had was an older one. Just keep this in mind, the motor on mine was about the size of my fist and I could easily tote the thing around with one hand.

The scale of the machine is really not shown in the pictures. For the money spent I think one could put just a little bit more green down and buy a much better unit unless space is just a real serious issue.

Well guys i went ahead and bought a hpc mini speedex for 319.00. Is cuts fine... than again I never really used a duplicator so i cant compare. It was a pain trying to hook up power cables for the inverter and bringing them in my chevy astro. I still dont have right.
